The BIG 30!!!!!

So, on August 30,1978 a little before 1pm my life changed forever. I would now have to share my life and my parents (who I had dominated for the the last 4 years) with a beautiful, wonderful baby brother. Please keep in mind that from that time forward I called him my baby and I was his "Sissy". To this day we still have pet names. We never refer to each other by name. I call him brother and he calls me sister. Hmm....Where did that come from? Ben often jokes, When we have a baby will he be called Uncle HG or Uncle Brother. (I haven't decided yet)

Living so far away I am not able to spend the day with him so this is my way of telling him just how much I love him. My brother is kind, loving, very funny and he always is so generous with me.(except for food, he is weird that way and trust me don't ever eat his ice cream....it is a serious offense) He buys me things I can't afford and is always making me feel loved and special. My favorite thing is when he calls to say HI. That ever familiar voice that says hey sister, why don't you ever answer your phone makes me laugh every time.

This is one of my favorite pictures of me and my bro. The story behind it makes me laugh every single time. As siblings often do, HG and I used to hit each other. HG however had this habit of hitting me and running. This day was no exception to that rule. He hit me and took off running and the next thing I knew he was doing a SUPERMAN across the asphalt. I have never laughed so hard in my life. I guess what they say is true. What goes around comes around. Now what I want to point out is.... notice what a good sister I am. Helping him with his ouchie. Now that is love my friends.

HG and I can fight like cats and dogs but when it really comes down to it we are always there for each other. Brother, I love you more than anything in this world. Always remember who you are. Always remember who has got your back and always remember I would do anything for you. Thank you for being who you are and a wonderful brother. I wish I could be with you today but know that you have been on my mind. I love you and I miss you.

Happy BIG 30!!!

NYC

On 8/1/2008 some of the hottest tickets in town were for screaming teenagers everywhere who wanted to see Stephenie Meyers kick-off book tour for Breaking Dawn. As many of you know her book came out at midnight that evening and yes, I had tickets. It was me, three of my friends, a few other women our age and a MASS amount of screaming teenagers.

The trip to NYC was an all day event. We had some good laughs, hefty tolls, an $8 mistake on those hefty tolls (courtesy of my error), train rides, bad traffic, a yummy dinner, great entertainment and a mass anxiety attack I will fill you in on later.

This was in Times Square. Don't we look beautiful? I will have you know what great actresses we are. It smelt like someone died right where we took this picture but you would never be able to tell by our gorgeous smiles.

We were a bit sweaty after our train ride into the city so we stopped off at a make- up store to freshen up and try on some new makeup. How did we do?

Next we were off to dinner. Sommer was nice enough to spoil me to a delicious dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp. We had a nice view of Time Square from where we were sitting.

This is me and my frozen lemonade in my very "special" glass. I know you can't tell from this picture but the bottom of my glass lights up. I even got to take the glass home. I know...green envy is running through you veins this very moment. Well don't worry....it can be yours too for only $7.95 or you can just come to my house and I will let you drink out of it. Only if your good that is.

me, Sommer, Tracie, Valerie. We had such a great dinner. Thanks for suggesting it Tracie. I had never been there and it was yummy.

This picture shows where my anxiety attack began. This is a picture of the mass crowd we had to push through or should I say we were pushed through to stand in line to get Stephenie Meyers signature. Was it worth it you say? After we got the signature and I could move without having someone I didn't even know get way to personal because we were standing practically on top of each other. I would say, YES! It was on this night I learned how much I value my personal space and what it feels like not to be able to breathe because you can't move and everywhere you turn there are people and more people.

Sommer, me, Tracie in front of Madison Square Gardens where we were catching the train for our journey home.

Yes, we are BIG Twilight NERDS! Here we are proudly holding our Breaking Dawn T-Shirts. Tracie was the one who introduced the books to Sommer and I. It was fun to have some friends who were also Twilight Nerds to share in the experience with me. Thanks girls for a fun night. I cherish having friends like you.

Lawyer Reunion 2008

Ben and I were fortunate enough to attend the Lawyer Reunion this year in Utah. We had such a great time being together with his family. I always cherish the time I get to spend with my in-laws because as soon as I became a member of the Lawyer Family we moved to Virginia and then Maryland. I enjoy spending time with my nieces and nephews. As you will see from the photos they are very adorable, pretty, handsome, cute (you get the idea). I also love getting to know my brother and sister-in-laws better. They are so funny and fun to be around. The Lawyer men love their puns so it is fun to watch them "thinking" they are funny and laughing at their own jokes. The Lawyer women are beautiful, patient, witty, and personally I think they are the funny ones but we all love to have a great time and be together.

Here are some of my favorite moments I was able to capture at the reunion.

These are just a few. Below is a slide show that I am sure only the Lawyer family will take time to view but that's ok.
